The Empowered Spirit Show

Mar 14, 2018

We often underestimate the amazing healing capacity of the body and take it for granted.

Did you know that your body works constantly to protect, regenerate and heal you?

When you know this, it can help you get to the root cause, which in turn strengthens this ability.

For example, here we are moving through one season into another.

Transitions can be challenging.

Although most people are happy to get out of winter and into spring, it can still bring up some issues.

Often, people find themselves stuck in the habits of winter and are not prepared to move into the new season. They are stuck in winter diets and winter activities, which can make the body sluggish and draining.

Spring is a time of cleansing and renewal, but if you aren’t aware of this you will find yourself prone to allergies and sinus problems.

And then what happens, sinus medicines and over the counter remedies only mask what is going on instead of getting to the root cause.

Is this a problem for you?

Even the moon cycles can create shifts in our energy.

We’re about to move into a new moon this week.

New moons are great for helping us shift our patterns. They offer us the time to open up to new intentions, plant some seeds and do some planning.

I know I can get excited to move into all the many, new ideas, but I still need to go with the flow and take one step at a time.

Working with the cosmos offers all of us a chance to do just that.

Right now, we have a couple of planets moving into retrograde, allowing us the opportunity to slow down. We must process these energies of seasonal change rather than bust right through.

We are in a Jupiter retrograde. Jupiter is a big planet and can help you to look at the bigger issues within yourself…do that spring cleaning from the inside out.

We also have a Mercury retrograde starting right as we pass through the spring equinox next week. This Mercury retrograde is about how we communicate (or miscommunicate) our new intentions.

This opening to the season will offer us this time to reflect, slow down and allow the energy to come forward.

It’s not that you have to be an astrologer to live your life, but being aware can help you get to the root cause of what’s going on for you spiritual, mentally and physically.

In the meditation this week, the card that comes forward from The Wisdom of the Oracles is Finding Home. It’s about standing in your truth and being authentic in your life. Moving from one season to another is a great opportunity to tap into the energy of this card. Where are you living your truth? And where can you shift your energy back to feeling more authentic? Where can you shift to feeling comfortable with who you are?

Take the time at this seasonal change to look for these signs, to know who you are and what you stand for.

Reconnect with your inner light as you bring your new intentions forward.

Being in touch with your own energy is so important and helps you take responsibility for your health and wellness. This is what we will be talking about in this episode of The Empowered Spirit Show. My guest Helen Ryan and I discuss the body’s innate ability to know and to self heal.

Helen Ryan is the CEO of Naturally Healthy Lifestyles. She takes a unique approach to wellness; the primary belief behind it is about taking your health back into your own hands. By balancing the body naturally and creating a space for it to thrive, not only will your health improve but also your life can come back into a positive alignment.

She is a Certified Nutritional Response Testing Practitioner and Health Specialist who has worked in the health and wellness industry for the last seven years. She practices at four locations in the Birmingham area and supported her body to heal through all natural protocols from ovarian cancer. This inspired her to work with others whose health challenges are preventing them from living the quality life they envision. Helen’s philosophy is that remedies shouldn’t be about managing symptoms but actually finding the root cause and truly healing from the inside out. She can be found on Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram.

In this episode, we talk about the amazing connection between the body, mind and spirit.

The body can self heal, but we get so far off track. Life hands us many stresses each and every day, stresses like responsibilities and family. These stresses can make us feel hopelessness and overwhelmed, which has a negative impact on our bodies.

Physically, stress increases the cortisol levels in the brain, which keeps us in a flight or flight state.

Finding support to deal with stress is imperative. You need to find the solutions that work for you, such as joyful activities to lift the vibration and release the stress. You may have to look at the environmental stressors that can push the body out of balance.

Our society is geared to running on stress, but over a period of time it can do a lot of damage.

Embracing integrative practices can be helpful, especially as we go through the seasonal changes. Finding the underlying cause of the stress helps to get to the root of what is needed to support the body.

We can use our intuition to build our health as well. By tuning into our intuition, we can better ascertain what is wrong.

Treatments like ionic footbaths and dry brushing are two techniques that you can use to detox the body, especially as we come out of winter to help with allergies and sinus issues. The lymphatic system gets sluggish during the end of winter, and we need alternative ways to pump the system to clean it out and stimulate movement. A manual lymphatic drainage massage or even an Aroma Reiki Session can help with the stimulation of our highways and byways.

Applied kinesiology is the body’s way of finding out information about the body’s priority and root cause of distress.

Using muscle testing treatments we can find the knowledge and confidence in understanding what is wrong and what is needed. The body really does know!

Staying present with one’s self is key!

Scars, wounds and even tattoos can play an important role in one’s health.

Having information on all levels helps determine your overall health and wellness and allows you to take back control of your health.

Being in touch with the Spirit is important and plays an important role as well.

Having the willingness to make changes comes from having a “why,” which then empowers you to make the change.

Learning new tools will offer you a different perspective to open the door and take the responsibility you need to bring the body back into balance.

When we are physically feeling better we can communicate with the Spirit that offers us peace and hope for our own self-healing.

The interaction between the body, mind and spirit is empowering!
