Catch Your Spirit welcomes Virani Ramsden from the film Finding Happiness. Virani was born Jacquelyn (Jackie) Jacobs, in San Diego, CA. Wanting to be the best at something- anything- at age 21 she roller skated across the United States, and was in the Guinness Book of World Records, 1980. After a few years of college, she became a Deputy Sheriff for 22 years. Virani was always afraid of blowing it, and found the whole deputy thing stressful, but then she read "Autobiography of a Yogi" and discovered the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. She learned how to meditate, and this helped her find an inner calmness which helped in her job, as well as giving her a purpose for her life. When she retired from law enforcement in 2002, she moved to Ananda Village to be in a spiritual environment that would support her highest aspirations. She's done many things since moving to Ananda, but the most joyful has been starting Yogoata, a part of Ananda Farms, and helping our self-sustaining efforts at the village. She's been doing that for 5 years, and it has been the biggest blessing of her life. Tune in and learn how you can find happiness in your life. Learn about living in a spiritual community.
